Maybe I’m really stupid (which I am) but I have a hard time understanding the differences between fascism and marxism. Is the only difference related to economics or something?

Marxism is basically analyzing societies based on class struggles from its past and exerting government control to “correct” the wrongs. So it insists on exerting huge government control on socioeconomic parts of society cause that’s the only way they can “ensure the class struggles stop.” It’s why so many people think it’s a good idea, they think the ends of correcting past wrongs justifies the means of overly strong central government.

Fascism is more “strength through unity” type justification. People aren’t part of any specific class, they aren’t even an individual, they are all sticks in a great bundle that can’t be undone do to how many there are. It sees society as an entity in and of itself and that each human in said society must give of themselves completely to strengthen the entity.
