What can I, as a person who wants to be Catholic, do to stay encouraged in my conversion at a time like this with all of these scandals being uncovered in the Church?

It’s important to keep in mind that the members of the Church who fail to live up to the Faith doesn’t negate the truth of the Faith. I’m not in the Catholic Church for the people, I’m here because it’s the Church that Jesus Christ founded.

It’s a terrible, terrible thing what happened to these children and I just hope that they can still have faith. Pray for the victims, that God heal them. Pray for the members of the clergy who have done these things, that they will truly repent for their sins. Pray for the rest of the clergy that they will faithfully pass down the authentic teachings of the Church. Lean on God more during these hard times.
