Hi! I’m a fellow Catholic who didn’t understand why people don’t call Catholics Christian because we’re the OP Christians, but I talked to one of my protestant friends, and he explained it to me. They define Christian as someone who teaches and lives two things. 1 everyone has (what they call) “sin nature” and 2 you can only be saved by accepting Jesus as your savior. Every other teaching, including how Baptism works, differs by denomination. Since Catholics believe in faith AND works, (1/2)

they don’t consider Catholics Christian. It’s really just how they define “Christian” because in Catholic school, I was taught that a “Christian” is someone who believes in Jesus Christ, but protestants define it differently. I just wanted to share what I’ve learned about it 🙂 I hope you have a great day!

Oh I know WHY they don’t, but it always bothers me when they say stuff like that. As if Catholic isn’t a Christian denomination.
It’s like an itch under the skin type of thing haha.

I feel like they move the goal posts on us, which is incredibly annoying
