I’m all in favor of tax-paying based electoral body. If a 16 (hell ! even a 14) y.o. earns enough to pay taxes after imputing all the subsides he or she perceives as a pupil and family incentives in most European countries, I’m ok with him or her having the right to vote.

Look, we all know younger people have the smallest turn out for voting. I don’t think minors should have that kind of civil responsibility, but I also know that they are gonna talk big about having a say in elections before sleeping in and not doing it, or not researching what they need to bring to the polls and having to be turned away because they don’t have proper ID.
