This could be fixed by requiring people with diabetes to buy it and give them massive tax penalties if they cant

The government ( FDA ) has allowed only 5 companies approved production rights of insulin/diabete drugs. Not allowing generic brands to be produced by other companies. Government regulations is the reason it cost so much.
