patron-saint-of-smart-asses:

So apparently those appalling NHS emergency contraceptive ads were supposedly aimed at teenagers in an effort to lower pregnancy rates.

idk about you but neither of those ads screamed “teenager” to me. And further more, scaremongering youth is hardly a worthwhile tactic. “Games or parenthood?” “Make up or parenthood?” Bitch how about we address the appalling lack of support teen parents get to begin with and stop pitting harmless hobbies against harmless children? Why is NHS so bent on misery and destruction?

Stop telling teens that their life is over when they get pregnant. Talk to them about adoption, or options for schooling at home, or other things that can get them on the right track when facing an unplanned pregnancy. “Make up or babies” just fuck off already.
