An awful lot of people have a strong belief in cuddly, soft Jesus who just wants you to have everything you desire. Jesus loved in a way that no other human being in existence has ever loved, at a magnitude that no one will ever love again. But it wasn’t a cuddly, soft, 1950′s doting housewife, “whatever you want, honey” kind of love. It was a love that flipped tables at the temple, drew attention to people’s failings and lies and sins, called people hypocrites and compared them to empty tombs, encouraged people to give away all that they had, admonished, taught, directed, and wanted- still wants- completely, above all else, for human beings to follow God’s will and attain salvation.
