I’ve honestly been wanting to make this post for a while, but the school year has started again and I never seem to get around to it.

My mom is currently (as I type this) undergoing surgery to remove cancer in her jaw. We don’t know how it got there or where it came from (no family history, the woman’s never smoked a day in her life).

Prognosis is good. It was starting to creep in on her lymph node, but nothing has spread to the lymphatic system. She will have to have part of her jaw removed, teeth, that node, all gone. They’re taking some bone from her leg to replace the missing jaw.

The whole thing is just a mess. It’s a long day in the hospital for me, my father, and my husband. (10 hours of surgery: removal, then reconstruction.)

If you have the chance, please please please spare a prayer for my mother. She is the last woman in the world to deserve this. She has been in a state since she found out almost five-six weeks ago. All my life, this woman has been an absolute rock. But I feel that torch passing.

I very much appreciate it. I really do believe in the power of prayer I have seen from these wonderful people here. Please know that I am praying for you, too.

May God have mercy on us all in our times of trial.

Going on 12 hours. They’re finishing up closing. We were the first ones here and we’re literally the last ones left.

The doctors have all said everything has gone as smooth as butter. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your prayers.
