I love the topic of death but in a lighthearted way. I love that there are dancing skeletons and grinning spirits and an afterlife that gives hope. Death is not a good thing but it doesn’t win either – that is what makes me love this season so much. The leaves are dead and falling but we play in it, because we know its not the end, and such is death for us.

this is why i love halloween and getting spoopy for it. i’m not celebrating death but i am finding a certain joy in spite of it

I don’t understand. Why do you have to find joy “in spite of” Death? It’s the doorway to the afterlife. It’s not scary or evil- it just is.

Death is repeatedly referred to as a Curse due to sin entering the world, and that it has been defeated by Christ on the Cross. Because Christ defeated death, we can now no longer live in fear of it and instead hope for eternal life with God (aka, Heaven).
