TIL in 2012 the largest breast cancer foundation in the United States, Susan G Komen, attempted to withdraw funding for Planned Parenthood for mammograms, the diagnostic and screening tool for breast cancer.

this is a good time to remind people that susan g komen is an awful breast cancer research foundation and you’d be better off donating to places like the breast cancer research foundation instead

I’ve they spend some obscene amount of money could actually be going to research and helping Cancer patients/survivors suing people for stupid shit like using the color pink for charity without their express permission.  

They also continue to perpetuate the idea that science hasn’t basically found multiple cures for breast cancer and funding at this point really should focus on making those treatments cheaper as well as fund education on early detection measures. But hey, better to just keep paying people who say they care about women and suing people who use pink ribbons because that’s pretty much only what the Susan G Komen Foundation does these days. – Purple
