All right. I am just going to say what’s on mny mind here.
This kind of thing? Is the reason Liberals are getting beaten at everything right now.
No, not just the kick to the face. But the fact that everyone is DEFENDING the kick to the face. It was an unprovoked act of violence against someone who was voicing her opinion. It was a crime. And the man who did it was fired from his job because it was a stupid, stupid act of someone who couldn’t fight back with words.
Now, I don’t give two flying fucks who you are or what your political views are, but the second you turn to violence to get your point across because you have no other means to do so?
You become the bully.
You become the person who attacks without provocation.
You become the bad guy.
And this my young friends, is why Liberals are not winning anything right now. This mentality that it is okay to do anything to win, as long as your side wins. To become someone who incites and acts violently as long as you think the cause is just? It is unquestionably wrong. This is not the act of someone who really believes that they’re right: it is the act of someone so angry that someone had a different point of view on a sensitive subject that they lashed out at an unarmed woman.
And all of you people defending this act? You are just as bad. Just as wrong. And have a deeper blame than the idiot who kicked. Why? It’s simple. Your praise promotes the idea that behaving like we’ve rewound the clock to the middle ages – where every disagreement was settled at the tip of a sword – is a good thing because you’re not getting your way.
Well, it’s time to grow up, kids. You want people to see you as an adult with important opinions? You need to act like an adult. You want to change the world? Then you need to speak. Shouting and throwing things at police, and attacking conservatives, and generally making fools of yourselves is not going to get you anything more than a continued loss of government seats.
Because the people you elect are acting like fools, too. Walking out of votes when they don’t win, speaking out of term and intentionally interrupting their equals on the floor, behaving like they are fresh out of Kindergarten instead of acting like the leaders of a nation. And they are doing it because they think it is what you want to see. And it may even be what you want to see, given the number of positive responses I see here to a man kicking a defenseless woman in the face.
Maybe stop trying to say the other guy is evil, and take a good look at what you’re becoming.
