Just some of the many recently vandalized Columbus statues across the occupied territories known as North America.

Did you know Columbus went west searching for a trade route to the Indies because the eastern route traditionally used by European and Asian traders was cut off by the fall of Constantinople to Ottoman Turk conquest under Mehmed II in 1453? If Anatolia didn’t fall to the Turks there would have been no reason for Columbus to try and sail around the world. We never discuss the dominos of history. We merely throw paint at it for our current year outrage. I wonder what most people believe drove Columbus west.
