Christianity is all about compassion. To be compassionate is to be selfless – to always put others before yourself. Placing your life above the life of another, even if there isn’t much chance they will live, is not compassionate. At best it is a neutral act.
Christians, however, are not commanded to be neutral. We are commanded to be compassionate, and compassion mandates sacrifice.
Christ tells us repeatedly to abandon material desire – to abandon our attachment to this fleeting life which pails in comparison to the eternity of heaven.
Because of this, abortion will never be a Christian act.
