Can a Protestant visit a Catholic Church? Obviously not take the communion part. Is there a way to decline the communion? I don’t want to visit and get thrown off a cliff or something idk how it’s done
Anyone is allowed to come to Mass, or to simply visit the church outside of Mass. If you are worried about Communion, it is best to stay in the pew; some people go up and cross their arms to receive a blessing instead of the Eucharist, but some parishes may not do this.
You are definitely welcome at mass! Just a small addendum about going up for a blessing during communion. If you choose to seek this blessing, make sure you are in the line where the priest is distributing the Eucharist. There may also be other people distributing the Eucharist as well who are called extraordinary ministers—they cannot perform a blessing. Simply approach the priest, make a small bow, and cross your arms like this guy:
If you are at a mass with altar rails, the same thing applies except you will be kneeling at the rail. Hope this helps!
