“Suppose one reads a story of filthy atrocities in the paper. Then suppose that something turns up suggesting that the story might not be quite true, or not quite so bad as it was made out. Is one’s first feeling, ‘Thank God, even they aren’t quite so bad as that,’ or is it a feeling of disappointment, and even a determination to cling to the first story for the sheer pleasure of thinking your enemies are as bad as possible? If it is the second then it is, I am afraid, the first step in a process which, if followed to the end, will make us into devil… [Eventually] we shall insist on seeing everything – God and our friends and ourselves included – as bad, and not be able to stop doing it: we shall be fixed for ever in a universe of pure hatred.”
— C. S. Lewis
News Flash: The devil is real
There are three senior demons getting ready to graduate from “Demon University”. For their final exam, Satan himself, is the administrator and he decides to ask each one a question to find out how “good” they’ll be at tempting humans.
So, the first demon comes forward.
Devil: "How will you tempt humans so that they come join us here?“
Demon 1: "I will tempt them with flawed reason, tricking the humans into thinking there is no God”
Devil: "Very good! If you can trick them into thinking that, you will bring many souls to Hell"
Then, the second demon comes forward.
Devil: "How will you tempt humans better than that?“
Demon 2: "Well, I will give them successes, power, and wealth and convince them to use it all for themselves!
Devil: "Even better my son! As long as the humans worship themselves they will definitely join us down here!
Finally, the third demon comes forward.
Devil: "How will you follow these brothers of yours with these great ideas?”
Demon 3: "I will tempt the humans with flawed reason as well"
Devil: "Oh, and how might that be helpful if your brother is already doing that?“
Demon 3: "Because my king, I will not bother convincing them that God doesn’t exist. I will convince them that you don’t.
Then, the Devil reared his head and let out a deep, chilling laugh and said:
Devil: "My son, you will bring more souls to Hell than any demon ever has!”
It’s mentioned early on that the only superhero to ever be capable of true flight was Christina St. James. When I first read that, I thought it was setting up a major revelation later in the series where another character would discover that they could fly too. Was this ever an idea you had?
No, I never seriously considered giving flight to another character. I wanted Christina St. James to have multiple distinctions as the OG superhero, and her powers were part of that.
When and how did Dean remove his head from his behind and realize that Eleanor was the gal for him? (P.S. Why the spiderbites, while we’re talking about Dean?)
I chose the lip piercings because I love them. See, Dean was built from the ground up to be a foil/threat for Benjamin, and I wanted him to have every attribute that I find attractive. That meant dark hair and light eyes, dashing and brave, and a warrior with a certain edgy flair. I even gave him a boy’s name that I adore but will never give a son, because “Dean Dodge” sound stupid.
A few days after the Saint Catherine team departed for Georgia again, Eleanor knocked on Dean’s door and told him–told him–that he was going to come to her house for dinner every single night to discuss finances. She made sure to wear pretty clothes for once, and had her hair and makeup done. He was like, “………..okay.”
She began to hit on him pretty hard, and our buddy Dean got the hint before too long. He realized that Eleanor was very pretty and smart, and that he had grown fond of her. A whirlwind romance bloomed.
I was just fortunate to meet [Stan Lee]. I feel like I’m just grateful that he was around to see what Marvel was able to do, especially in the last ten years. I feel like he always…he had the cameos. I think he was happy with the turnout.

Prayer request
My doctor recently reduced the dose of one of my medications and unfortunately this has triggered a mild bout of depression…and it’s getting worse. I’m doing my best to use positive coping skills and I’m seeing my doctor and my therapist in the next couple days, but I’m afraid I’m about to be put on suicide watch (which sucks).
I just want to make it through the month without being hospitalized.
So I guess I’m asking for prayers that my mental health improves and that I feel better enough to get through November hospital free.
