In our secular age, people go into higher learning with blank slate. Meaning, they aren’t driven by a purpose or in search of truth. In consequence, they look for identity. And the most common pitfalls of that is to search for identity in feminism and other forms of class struggle. The search for identity then becomes seeking redemption from past struggles and trying to find a way to redress them to have a balance.
In contrast, the Middle Ages people offered up their whole being to God; the Scholastics incorporated Aristotelian philosophy into theology to strengthen the Faith, the artists used their talents to depict the events in the Bible, and the craftmen lifted up their physical labor in prayer.
Their Faith was the steering wheel, not the spare tire, in their lives.
In serving Christ, they saw how their souls colors the light of God as it shines through them.

I’m so glad I’m seeing more and more Lundy Bancroft quotes on my dash because this book CHANGES THE LIVES OF ABUSE VICTIMS.
The programs run for rehabilitating abusive men through the courts? Bancroft DESIGNED THEM. His programs are replicated ALL OVER THE WORLD. He literally wrote THE book on abuser rehabilitation.
Can we talk about how it seems like the entirety of the book is online on PDF, this making it accessible to anyone with an internet connection?
That is how we stop abuse.
We enable everyone to know what it looks like, so that when it happens, they can shut it down.

I know this is a shitpost but just in case you don’t know, it actually tracks the way the cursor moves. Bots can click it instantly and moving in a perfectly straight line, people take a few milliseconds to react and move the mouse imperfectly. If the computer’s still not sure whether you’re a human or not, it makes you do the 3×3 photo grid thing I never seem to get right

since the day I heard an older man say “relationships thrive when you are always trying to out-serve each other” I have never, ever forgotten it.
relationships thrive when you are always trying to love the other person more than they love you. in every way.
it’s so selfless.
and it’s safe to be as selfless as possible because you know they are doing the same and there’s no doubt that you’ve got each other.
I know this can seem like a really harsh lesson sometimes. But if you’re taking meds, you absolutely. must. consult. your. doctor. if you want to stop.
I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH.
YES THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. seriously I tried that once and I became very ill – please don’t stop taking your medication without first talking it through with your doctor.
I once thought it was okay to go without my anti-depressants for a few days because I didn’t want to bother my mom when she was already short on money.
I cannot stress how much of a bad idea that was.
DO NOT DO IT
Especially if you are on a medication with a very short half life, like Effexor. You will feel ill and shaky and monstrously awful the very next day. Please take care of yourself we love you ❤

Different kind of med but especially with antibiotics. If you don’t take them all, you risk the bacteria not all being killed off and bacteria building up resistance, getting you sick again and this time the meds probably won’t be able to help you.
yeah, no, absolutely do not ever cold-turkey SNRIs (Effexor and family) or antibiotics. the latter literally runs the risk of killing you, and the former will make you wish you had died.
