DO NOT DISMISS SOMETHING A CHILD IS PROUD OF. LOOK AT IT. POINT SOMETHING OUT AND TELL THEM YOU LOVE IT. IF A CHILD DRAWS YOU A RAINBOW, TELL THEM YOU LOVE HOW IT HAS RED. THEY WILL THINK “WOW. IT DOES HAVE RED. THEY LOVE HOW I PUT RED IN IT. I PUT RED IN IT. AND THEY NOTICED.” MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD KNOWS YOU ARE PROUD OF THEM.

Always motivate your children to see the good in what they do as a result of the work they put in.

HELP! Lucy is MISSING!

Hey guys, if you’re in the DFW area of Texas, can you please look out for this kitty?  Lucy belongs to my best friend and has been missing since Sunday. They’ve found her collar but not her, though she is microchipped.

I’ve also been praying for the intercession of St. Anthony, Patron Saint of Lost Things, St. Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of Animals, and St. Gertrude, Patron Saint of Cats.

homura-bakura:

from your friendly neighborhood librarian:

all books are good books.  you are not a “lesser reader” if you only read manga or comic books or a “better reader” for reading academic heavy texts.

reading is reading no matter what it is, be it a graphic novel, a romance, a classic, an audiobook, a picture book, a cookbook, fanfiction, fucking whatever, read what makes you happy

reading is supposed to be fun and don’t let elitism sap any joy out of it

by-grace-of-god:

The choice for gratitude rarely comes without some real effort.

But each time I make it, the next choice is a little easier, a little freer, a little less self-conscious…

Acts of gratitude make one grateful because, step by step, they reveal that all is grace.
