I love the transitional phase from Bad to Good when a villain switches sides. There’s always that part where they are struggling to understand why they can’t just kill the person who badmouthed their Hero/Protagonist friend and it’s so pure in the most confusing way, our Edgy Child is just tryna be supportive bless them.

There’s just something about a character who turns away from doing terrible things, looks at the long and difficult redemption journey ahead of them, and just rolls up their sleeves and goes, “I guess it’s time to get to work.”
