Misleading headlines from a snot rag of a publication. A bill has been proposed to make abortions after 6 weeks illegal. One of the women behind the bill brought her children with her to make the point that “Motherhood isn’t easy but it’s necessary.”

The headline intentionally wants to make you believe that Republicans want to forcibly inseminate women and they use a picture of Kavanaugh, instead of the woman they’re quoting, to try and relate their already misleading headline with accusations of rape and sexual misconduct.

At least try a little harder with the lying propaganda. I didn’t even have to do research I just read the rest of the article.

The Truth About the Ohio Abortion Ban

prolifeproliberty:

The Heartbeat Bill recently passed by the Ohio House (currently on its way to the Senate) has had a LOT of not just bad press, but actively deceitful press. Here is the link to the full text of the bill. I’m going to bust a few myths here:

Myth #1: An abortionist who violates this ban would face the death penalty.

From the actual bill:

Sec. 2919.195.

Whoever violates this division is guilty of performing or
inducing an abortion after the detection of a fetal heartbeat, a
felony of the fifth degree
.

A 5th degree felony in Ohio carries a prison sentence of typically 6-12 months. No death penalty.

Myth #2: A pregnant person who violates this ban would face the death penalty.

Sec.

2919.198

A pregnant woman on whom an
abortion is performed
or induced in violation of section 2919.193, 2919.194, or 2919.195 of the
Revised Code is not guilty of violating any of those sections;
is not guilty of attempting to commit, conspiring to commit, or
complicity in committing a violation of any of those sections;
and is not subject to a civil penalty based on the abortion
being performed or induced in violation of any of those
sections.

IN FACT, the woman who has an illegal abortion can sue the abortionist for the wrongful death of her child (Sec.

2919.199.)

Myth #3: There are no exceptions for the health or life of the mother.

Sec. 2919.195

Division (A) of this section does not apply to a
physician who performs a medical procedure that, in the
physician’s reasonable medical judgment, is designed or intended
to prevent the death of the pregnant woman or to prevent a
serious risk of the substantial and irreversible impairment of a
major bodily function of the pregnant woman.

Feel free to let me know if you hear any other myths about this bill.

Seems like democrats can only win by cheating. All these “found ballots” are fricking ridiculous, you can’t get more obvious.

The Republican wins but oh no we have to recount because we found all these mysteriously uncounted ballots and oh look now the Democrat wins 🤔 how odd

it reminds me of when I was in DC on a school trip, and it was a trip that my school was on with like 15 other schools around the country, and we had a mock Congress and we debated and voted on a bill that was very dividing.

The people who had a more liberal view on the bill, who wanted to pass it, were extremely vocal and all their arguments were emotionally-based and at one point what seemed like a good chunk of the crowd of 150 kids cheered very loudly even though the people running this mock congress explicitly told them not to. And then they did it again after being reminded not to.

The people who had a more conservative view on the bill were quiet. One of my classmates stood up and said some very incorrect things and it was incredibly painful. Another one of my classmates, a debate team member, stood up and explain very tactfully how the bill is unconstitutional.

(What did I do? I sat in the back of the room and cried bc I’ve been on tumblr long enough to know that this mock Congress was gonna stir up drama and conflict. And it did.)

When it came time to vote, people raised their hands on either yes or no, and the like, 25 leaders went around the room and counted hands. At the end, they announced the results.

It was around 80-70 against the bill.

All the people who supported the bill gasped and freaked out and were super confused. All the people who voted against the bill stayed quiet. One of the people who spoke in the mic earlier for the bill stood up and asked for a recount. They recounted.

90-60 against.

At another point during the trip, my small group of about 15 kids from around 5 different school were playing an icebreaker game called trainwreck. It’s like musical chairs; there’s one person in the middle, and if they say a statement that is also true for you (i.e. “I have blue eyes” or “I’ve never been to Hawaii”) you stand up and try to find a newly empty chair. If no one stands, it’s trainwreck, and everyone has to stand up and find a new chair.

Well, this one (white) gal who was extremely vocal about her liberal beliefs was in the middle, and she said “I’m a liberal!”

No one stood. Not a single white person, Latino, Asian, or black person. (And we had at least one of each in that group.) She was thoroughly shocked.

I think in today’s day and age, with social media and celebrity advocates and the news and etc etc, that a lot of people forget that there are people with conservative beliefs that aren’t the Big Bad White Men they diss on TV. And when it’s shown to them, when the votes say “Hey, we’re silent but we’re here”, people don’t believe it. Because how could there be so many “””bigots and racists and etc””” in the world to vote against what the media and celebrities have made into the popular and trendy and acceptable and seemingly majority vote?

It’s because when we say we’re conservative, we get hate for it. My classmate got locked out of her hotel room by the two girls from other schools that she was sharing with because of that mock Congress vote against the bill.

So a lot of us stay so quiet, they don’t believe it when our voting speaks.

Totally absent and ignored among all this talk about historic “firsts” among the Democrats newly elected during the midterm is any mention of the firsts among Republicans such as:

Yvette Herrell, member of the Cherokee Nation and the first Native American woman Representative elected from New Mexico (along with Deb Haaland):

Martha McSally, first woman Senator elected from Arizona:

Anthony Gonzalez, first Hispanic Representative elected from Ohio (Cuban, specifically):

Marsha Blackburn, first woman Senator elected from Tennessee:

Kevin Stitt, member of the Cherokee Nation and the first Native American Governor elected in Oklahoma:

Kristi Noem, first woman Governor elected in South Dakota:

This list was compiled from just a quick search so I am sure there are other such “firsts”.

But do you know why Republicans don’t make hay out of our “firsts” like Democrats do?

Because race, gender, religion, and ancestry all have absolutely zero bearing on how good of an elected official someone will be.

There is literally no reason to make a big deal about any of these Republican or Democrat “firsts”—no reason whatsoever—because at the end of the day a person’s ancestors do not make the decisions, a person’s genitals do not make the decisions, and a person’s priest, imam, or rabbi do not make the decisions.

The substance of a person’s life, experiences, and character is what truly matters because those are ultimately what will compose their guiding principles in the decisions they make in legislation and in governance.

Celebrate your “firsts” if you must, but as you do, ask yourself if you actually know anything about the character or experiences of the people you are so excited about.

Holy Love Message – 11/11/2018

Once again, I (Maureen) see a Great Flame that I have come to know as
the Heart of God the Father.  He says: “Children, no one suffers more
from the effects of sin than I do.  My Paternal Heart beats as one with
the Mournful Heart of My Son.  Free will is guided by the errors of
present-day morals.  The morals of today too often please man and not
Me.”

“Make amends to My Heart.  Invest in your own salvation by acts of
reparation to My Heart.  Be concerned with the direction – the course –
politics are taking.  It is politics which grieve Me almost as much as
the loose morals which have become commonplace today.  Whole countries
would be converted if they awakened to My Will.”

“Always, your prayers and sacrifices are My Consolation.”

Read Ephesians 5:15-19+

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise,
making the most of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not
be foolish, but understand what the Will of the Lord is. And do not get
drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit,
addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing
and making melody to the Lord with all your heart,

Democrats: How do Republicans keep getting votes? How did Trump win the 2016 election?!

Also Democrats: Lol Democrats are more educated than stupid Republicans

Dear democrats,

If you want people to vote blue, don’t call them uneducated, bigoted, and what have you if they are indecisive. That will just scare them away.

Wow so weird that all university students are voting a certain way completely counter to the ideals and realities of their state or local areas community!

Really weird! it must be because youre all very intelligent and are immune to propaganda! Education is always a positive thing and if you’re being educated then it means you’re more Intelligent! No other factors might come into play when it comes to an individual’s education! No educator has any kind of bias and no faculty can create an environment where certain ideas are pushed out and others are promoted. You are very intelligent and immune to propaganda! Remember that you are very intelligent and that’s why you’re voting the way you do. It’s because you’re very intelligent and you are immune to propaganda. Immune to propaganda because you are very Intelligent people and that’s why you vote as you do. That’s why all the people in your university vote that way. It’s because you’re very Intelligent and therefore vote for that political party, completely counter to everyone else in your state who doesn’t go to university. It’s because you’re immune to propaganda and education is completely apolitical and without bias. You are too I telligent to be swayed by any kind of propaganda. Don’t be mean to the dumb rebels as they are not immune to propaganda (hence their voting pattern) propaganda that you are immune to because you’re Inelligent.

Just your daily reminder that the two-party system blows:

like-the-brightest-star:

Here in Ohio, we’re voting for our state auditor today. Now, we have 3 choices here:

1. A current state representative who is a law school grad with 8 years of state senate experience under his belt. As far as I can tell, no experience in finances or auditing.

2. Another law school grad with 5 years of congressional experience under his belt. Hasn’t been anywhere near politics for the past 7 years. Again, no easily visible experience in finances/auditing.

3. A 32-year accounting and auditing veteran who also worked as an adjunct professor after getting his masters(in finance). In addition to being totally qualified, also seems like a nice guy: does a lot of community services, tutoring, and coaching in his spare time.

Seems like a total wash, right? Candidate 3 seems astronomically more qualified than Candidates 1 & 2. Here’s the problem though: Candidates 1 & 2 are Republican and Democrat respectively. “Who cares? Candidate 3 still seems infinitely more qualified than either of them: he’s definitely going to win right?” Yeah… none of our local news groups are even talking about Candidate 3- or his credentials- because he’s 3rd party.

All of this isn’t even touching on all the discussions we could have about qualified candidates of any party being ignored because of their party affiliation: plenty of moderate candidates- with excellent credentials- that aren’t going to win because they aren’t “hard-line” enough to get their party’s support.

How do I convince the hicks in my state that no one gives a shit about them and they needed to vote blue

No one giving a shit about them is why they don’t vote blue.

democrats routinely ignore rural problems in favor of appealing to urban voters because they can gain a lot more political power by taking cities

republicans do it too but at least conservative policies leave them be and don’t push them to carry the financial weight of urban problems
