Depth under depth of self-love and self-admiration. Pride! It was through Pride that the devil became the devil; it is the complete anti-God state of mind. Pride is essentially competitive in a way the other vices are not. Pride is a spiritual cancer: it eats up the very possibility of love, or contentment, or even common sense.
Once again, I (Maureen) see a Great Flame that I have come to know as
the Heart of God the Father. He says: “Every spiritual gift is just
that – it is a gift from Heaven. These gifts are never bestowed to make
the recipient important. They are given to lead souls to salvation.
The gifts are only as genuine as the bearer is humble.”
“I lead souls first in humility. This is the hallmark of genuine
gifts. It is through humility the soul is able to recognize his own
faults and obstacles to spiritual perfection. Without perfection in
humility, the soul is easily led astray. The soul who thinks he is
humble is the farthest from humility. The soul who thinks he is holy is
farthest from holiness.”
“Spiritual growth is fraught with dangers – all based upon pride.
Therefore, do not take pride in your spirituality. Allow your faults to
be stepping stones to perfection as you overcome them.”
