This is really disgusting ableism, but let’s take all of that out for a moment.
Without the dehumanizing language about other human beings, Skyler’s argument is:
“Imagine all the children about to be born because a woman’s rights are being ripped away.”
It’s not even “they’re not human and we shouldn’t feel guilt about disposing of them” anymore, we’ve gone right into “I don’t want kids therefore if I get pregnant I should be able to kill them.”
That’s horrifying.
I like the sly way we’re removing responsibility for neglectful/abusive caregivers.

Like, literally, nothing justifies child abuse. Especially not the fact that the child was born.

And like, I knew disabled people who were pro aborting children who are disabled because “the parents will obviously be unable to properly care for them and become abusive towards them” OR maybe we hold parents to a higher standard and also don’t act like every single person will turn abusive towards their children just because you had horrible parents?

* since this has been shared so much I’ll elaborate. He was born at 22.2 weeks weighing 13.9 oz. after 160 days he finally got to come home. 5 months old and 5 lbs 11 oz. No major issues. Our local hospital flat out said they would not save him before 24 weeks and he had a 2% chance to live. I opted to transfer (after my husband called 16 hospitals in 3 states to find one that would save him). They acted like transferring was pointless, that trying to save him was pointless. Well, here he is. Alive and thriving. Never give up

I shouldn’t be forced to have it. No, but you weren’t forced to have consensual sex either. You entered into a sexual relationship with a man, knowing fully the consequences of sex. Now, if you’re pregnant, you are being held responsible for your actions. This is called being an adult, it’s what separates you from the nonconsenting children. Besides, no one is forcing you to have a child.
It will ruin my body and life. This is both the most shallow and hypocritical statement I’ve ever heard in my entire life. How do you think that abortion is treating your child’s body and life?
I don’t want to be a parent. Don’t be a parent; put your child up for adoption. Or, skip all the unnecessary pain and wait to have sex with your husband (or with any other man with which you would want to raise a child).

But let’s say you are too lazy to go through the adoption process. Well, guess what? There are something called Safe Haven Laws, wherein a mother can leave her newborn child at a hospital (or even a police department, fire station, church or synagogue, adoption agency, or child welfare agency) without any questions or consequences. In fact, as I volunteer at a hospital, those working in these locations are unable to ask the mother or father any questions if they decide to leave their child. We are only permitted to ask about a medical history of the child, and if the parent refuses to answer, then we aren’t even allowed to ask a second time.
I have no money. Well, you have options. Ask the man who impregnated you to be a mensch and get married. Start working multiple jobs. Apply for government assistance. Seek out financial aid from charities and religious organizations. Move in with your parents or any other responsible relatives. Put your child up for adoption, many couples will even pay expectant mothers every month to ensure her wellbeing. Leave your child at a safe location as per the Safe Haven Laws in your state. There, I just listed seven options for poor pregnant women.
It’smy body, so it’s my choice. Yes, it’s your body that is helping your child grow. However, your child is a separate living entity. Pregnant women do not have four arms, four legs, and twenty fingers and twenty toes. Pregnant women are not suddenly intersex when they are having baby boys. Just because your body is helping with the growth of a human, doesn’t mean you get to destroy that human. You wouldn’t have wanted your mother to have aborted you, what makes you think these defenseless children want their mothers to abort them?
I don’t want to have a baby, and I don’t want to be pregnant. Sorry, but you had sex. What did you think was going to happen? Even if you practiced responsible sex, pregnancy is still a possibility. You may not like the outcome, but you agreed to the risk when you engaged in consensual sex.
Stop taking my rights. Stop ignoring the rights of unborn children.
These are not valid reasons, these are disgusting reasons. These are convenience abortions. Nothing is worse than killing millions of defenseless people because it’s convenient. Nothing is worse than encouraging and normalizing the killings of millions of people because it’s the ‘right’ of a certain class of people.

Just to point out, the Hungarian state has become a second father to tens of thousands of Hungarian children.
The tax reductions obviously I like the most; it doesn’t take a genius to realise that taking less of people’s money leaves them in a better position to raise children.
2 years ago, Hungary was catching all kinds of shit from Merkel and co. for not letting in migrants. After dealing with both Fascism and Communism for much of the last half century, and still recovering from them, they didn’t want to hear anyone’s shit.
Today…Merkel is admitting it was a fuckup, and irreparable damage has been done. Mass deportations are coming.
Meanwhile… Hungary is showing everyone what can be done if you focus on bettering the lives of it’s citizens.
