Without a doubt, The Didache Bible (:
(Pronounced; “Did-uh-kay”)

This one is amazing for converts because it explains Catholic doctrine, and also has links to Catechism paragraphs all throughout the scriptures so you can read both together. It’s the RSV2CE translation (Revised Standard Version, Second Catholic Edition)

On every page there’s Catechism paragraph numbers that relate somehow to the verses on the page, it has great footnotes, and there’s an apologetics glossary at the back if you want to learn more about things like the Eucharist, or Marian theology, and those pages also have scripture, Catechism, and even Church father readings. It’s like the ultimate beginner’s guide to Catholicism Bible.

The Catholic view on contraception and many other things is nonsense and comes from not understanding the meaning of Bible passages: The misunderstanding on contraception is from misinterpreting the story of Onan in Genesis 38. His sin was not spilling seman on the ground. It was not fulfilling his duty and responsibility to his brother’s widow. It was refusing to help her have children that would link her into the family and help her be taken care of that was the sin, not the way he accomplished it. Why anyone would convert to a denomination with so much false doctrine is beyond my understanding!

are you aware that literally all Christians were against contraception until like 1930
