I would rather that giving away unused food would be an option rather than obligatory, but I’m interested to see how this plays out.
Always seemed dumb that they just threw it away, having them be forced to donate it isn’t good but I suppose it’s better than nothing? Would be better to give them incentive like a tax break or something if they donate their uneaten but still perfectly edible food
The use of force is (most likely) unnecessary, all you have to do is remove their legal liability for donating it and they will. Also yeah a tax break
I love how they’re acting like restaurants are just greedy and chose to throw out all the food instead of it being the government that was keeping them from doing charity, as the government often does because the government wants to be the one people are forced to rely on for what they need.
