Yeah so I don’t like this and I’ll tell you why.

This is blanket condemnation. Just because someone doesn’t decide to go to church with you does not mean you are not a good enough Christian. Just because they turn down your invitation does not mean YOU are the issue. Some people, many people that I’ve been close to in my lifetime, have declined going to church because they either follow their own religions and didn’t want to go somewhere they felt condemned themselves, or they had had really awful experiences in previous churches and they did not want to go through the pain that they had already experienced again.

My friends, do not think that because someone does not accept your invitation to church, it is because they cannot see Jesus radiating through you or because you’re not a good enough follower or because you don’t live your life perfectly and they don’t want a part in that. 9 ½ times out of ten, it has nothing to do with you. It has to do with their experiences or their own personal biases towards the Church or towards our God. Please don’t beat yourself up for not being “enough like Christ” if your friends and family around you say no to an invitation. It’s wrong and this right here is preaching the opposite of God and His love and direction and teaching. Perhaps it was a piece of a sermon that was taken way out of context, but shame on the person that took snippets of it and posted it here to make Christians feel like they’re failing if someone else rejects the love of God. It’s wrong.

I don’t like seeing this post continue to circulate my dash, so I’ll reblot it with a good comment.

So I found out a few months ago that wanting to ‘not exist’ or wishing you could ‘just sleep forever’ is also considered suicidal (specifically suicidal idealization). It shocked me cause I used to think that way when I was younger but had previously thought that being suicidal meant explicitly wanting to die.. but it actually involves wanting to not live too.

I think its an important thing to note cause it might allow someone to realize the severity of their condition earlier.

For those unaware because staff isn’t saying it

Tumblr was deemed too full of inappropriate content to be allowed to be downloaded from the app store.

It has this “inappropriate” problem because of rampant porn ad bot accounts. The old solutions were bots to detect image sets with nsfw content, the automatically enabled safe mode, tag filtering for mobile, and wide takedowns of nsfw bots based on words used (that’s why their messages are full of numbers and symbols, to evade this)

Tumblr released their own bot supposedly capable of wiping the ad bots, but it’s taking down many popular blogs, possibly due to sheer amounts of posting or sheer amounts of ad bots in their notes. This bot was likely rushed to be put out.

You are more likely to be accidentally flagged if you post external links, as well. If your acct is taken down you CAN get it back, but it’s a pain. E-mail tumblr support for help with this. It takes down side blogs with the main ones.

I’ll be halting posts for about a week or until this problem is fixed.
